The society is saddened to hear of the death today (13/11/2006) of Wilfrid F Moreton. Whilst never a resident member of the BnD Wilf gave freely of his time to help the BnD during the 60’s and early 70’s when the ringing capability of the society was progressing towards more complex methods.
Wilf rang in 24 society Peals and conducted 19 of these. Also Wilf would frequently travel across from Wakefield to help out at special practices during a period when there were no accomplished conductors in the area capable of calling and from these practices upcoming local conductors learnt the ‘dark arts’ with Wilf’s guidance.
More recently Wilf donated one of the trebles for the augmentation at Flamborough.

It is hoped to carry on the excellent work begun by the late Mark Lane in ensuring that the society ringing records are up to date and available to all members. Now that the major re-write of the society web site has been completed we hope to offer the most comprehensive on-line record collection for any society.
To keep these records however will need the help of all peal and quarter peal conductors.
If you call peals or quarters that for the society please email details to peals@bnd.org.uk or quarters@bnd.org.uk for inclusion. This also applies to any quarters that you may have details of that are not currently on the site.
